1. Select your support level from Pocket Coils, Open Coils and High Density Foam

 

2. Select your comfort level from Memory, Latex and High Density Foam

 

3. Select your Foundation level from Standard, Heavy, Storage and Adjustable

 

High Density Foam:

 

High density foam is a type of polyurethane foam that is composed of a large amount of open cells or bubbles that are packed tightly together. The result of this higher concentration or density is that air is able to pass through the holes in the cells with greater ease, making it much easier to provide comfortable padding for cushions, mattresses, and other similar products. Foam density of this type also tends to hold its shape with greater efficiency, allowing it to return to normal dimensions when any object is lifted from the surface of the foam.

 

Natural Latex Foam:

 

100% Natural Latex is inherently hypo-allergenic, anti-microbial and dust mite resistant, making it perfect for allergy sufferers or anyone wanting to breathe fresh, clean air while they sleep. In addition, natural latex is breathable, keeping you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Derived from the rubber tree, latex is the most naturally durable cushioning material available. So while it might cost a little more initially, in the long run, only latex will provide you with the perfect balance of comfort and support for years to come.

 

Memory Foam:

 

Memory foam is polyurethane with additional chemicals increasing its viscosity and density. It is often referred to as visco-elastic polyurethane foam. In all formulations, it is firmer when cooler. Higher density memory foam reacts to body heat, allowing it to mold to a warm human body in a few minutes.  To achieve longevity, it is recommended to use 5 pounds or higher of memory foam, which we do here at Select Sleep Mattress.  

 

Support Level

 

Open Coil:

Our Open Coil system is about 5-6 turns high and consist 390 coils for a queen size.  The coils are all assembled into a single construction with helical wire. This is a thinner, spiral wire that joins the coils at top and bottom to form several rows. An outer rod is then fitted around the top and bottom of the finished construction to provide additional strength.  An EPE foam edge is added to the full perimeter of the support that eliminates the feeling of rolling off when sleeping near the edge of the mattress.  This extra edge support also provides the extra support needed when sitting on the edge of the mattress.  

 

Pocket Coil:

A pocket coil is a cylindrical spring wrapped in its own fabric pocket. This construction is designed to give the most contour of any support system. Each coil works independently which means that you will feel your partner move much less. Each pocket coil absorbs the weight placed on it without distributing the load to other coils. This type of coil is a good choice for people who toss and turn and for their bed partners because the motion separation may prevent waking from a deep sleep which is very important for well being. Simmons’ Beautyrest uses this type of coil.  An edge support system is added to this spring construction as well.  

 

Posture Foam:

Posture Board:

Posture Board is an all wood frame.  This construction is unique because it consists of many slats 1.5” in width placed through out the length of the mattress.  In between each slat, we leave ¾” of space for air circulation, thus preventing mold and mildew.  This type of support level is very good for maintaining spinal alignment and for some heavier people.
